Domestic violence is not always loud. Sometimes, it whispers through fear, isolation, and silent tears behind closed doors. As women of faith, neighbors, and community members, we are called to listenâto see what the world often overlooksâand to offer safety, hope, and love where silence has caused pain.
October marks the beginning of our Domestic Violence Awareness Campaign: Breaking the Silence, hosted by the Global Foundation for Womenâs Health. This movement invites churches, womenâs groups, and communities to come together and create safe spaces for healing and change.
đ Why We Must Speak
1 in 3 women will experience abuse in her lifetime. Yet far too many suffer in silence, unsure where to turn. Abuse is not only physicalâit can be emotional, financial, spiritual, or verbal. And every form leaves an invisible scar that only love, faith, and awareness can begin to heal.
đ¸ Our Mission
Through this campaign, we are committed to:
Educating our community on the varied forms of abuse.
Empowering survivors to reclaim their voice and dignity.
Equipping churches and communities to become safe havens.
âď¸ Faith + Advocacy
Psalm 34:18 reminds us, âThe Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.âWe stand on this truth as we offer hope, healing, and restoration to every woman who has ever felt unseen or unheard.
đ Join the Movement
This month, weâll host our first Ladies Brunch â âBreaking the Silenceâ at Saint Timothy's Episcopal Church, featuring survivor stories, community speakers, and resources for healing. If youâd like to support, volunteer, or learn more, visit https:\\www.gfwomenshealth.com or email us at info@gfwhealth.org.
Letâs break the silenceâtogether. Because silence hides abuse, but love reveals healing.
